And we're not just saying that — we've spent years helping Fortune 500 companies, startups, and every size in between pull off events that people actually remember.
This guide covers everything you need to know about planning a corporate event in Park City and Salt Lake City — two destinations that offer distinctly different vibes, but share one thing in common: they consistently exceed expectations.
Let's dig in.
Why Utah for Corporate Events?
Before we get into the specifics, here's the bigger picture: Utah has quietly become one of the most sought-after corporate event destinations in the country. Here's why planners keep coming back:
World-class resorts (Park City alone has multiple Forbes Five-Star properties)
Easy airport access — Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is a major hub with direct flights from most major cities, and Park City is just 35 minutes from the airport
Year-round destination — Each season brings something different, meaning you can plan around your preferred vibe
Genuine experiences — Unlike generic conference rooms everywhere, Utah offers adventure, wellness, and scenery that actually makes people want to attend
Strong local infrastructure — From activity companies to caterers to fantastic decor rental, Utah's event ecosystem is mature and professional
Park City vs. Salt Lake City: Which Is Right for Your Event?
This is the first question we ask every client, and the answer depends on what you're trying to achieve.
Choose Park City If:
You want a retreat-style atmosphere where people can disconnect
Mountain scenery and outdoor activities are important to your team
You're planning an incentive trip, executive retreat, or leadership offsites
Luxury accommodations and resorts are in your budget
You want to create memorable experiences (think: après-ski, team adventures, wellness sessions)
Vibe: Upscale mountain town, intimate, experiential, adventure-forward
Best for: 20-200 person retreats, incentive travel, leadership summits, teambuilding offsites
Choose Salt Lake City If:
You have a larger group (100+)
You need convention center space or large hotel meeting facilities
Budget is a significant factor (SLC offers great value)
You want easy access to restaurants, nightlife, and urban amenities
You're planning a conference, product launch, or company-wide meeting
Vibe: Urban, accessible, professional, downtown energy
Best for: Large conferences, tradeshows, company all-hands, training sessions, formal dinners
The Best of Both Worlds
Here's a pro tip: some planners split their event between both cities. Start with a day or two in Salt Lake City for the formal meetings, then move to Park City for the retreat experience r pre or post board meeting. It's a 35-minute drive and creates a natural flow from "work" to "connect."

The Logistics: What You Need to Know
Budgeting
Both destinations offer a range of price points:
Park City tends toward premium — expect to invest more for the resort experience. But what you get is genuine luxury, natural beauty, and experiences that can't be replicated elsewhere.
Salt Lake City offers a better value — you can stretch your budget further while still delivering an impactful, quality experience.
Vendor Relationships
This is where local expertise matters. We've built relationships with every major venue, caterer, florist, AV company, and transportation provider in both cities. We know:
Who delivers consistently
Who has availability when others are booked
How to negotiate better rates
Who can handle last-minute changes
Trying to coordinate 10 different vendors yourself? That's a full-time job. We handle it so you don't have to.
Transportation
From the airport:
SLC to Park City: 35 minutes, scenic drive through the mountains
SLC to downtown SLC: 10-15 minutes
Getting around:
Park City: Shuttle, rental car, or rideshare. If your event spans multiple venues, we coordinate shuttles.
SLC: Very walkable downtown, but for groups moving between venues, we arrange transportation.
Permits & Regulations
Utah is generally business-friendly, but some venues require permits or have specific regulations (especially for alcohol service). We handle all of this as part of our service — you won't have to navigate the paperwork.
Common Questions We Hear
"How far is Park City from the airport?" Yes, really, just 35 minutes. It's an easy, scenic drive — no small planes or connections required for most travelers.
"What's the best season for a corporate retreat?"It depends on your goals. Summer offers the most activity options. Fall is our personal favorite for the aspens. the shoulder seasons best value. Winter is perfect if you want skiing to be part of the experience.
"Can we do both Park City and Salt Lake City in one trip?"Absolutely. Some clients do 1-2 days in SLC for meetings, then move to Park City for the retreat experience. It's a natural flow. Other groups who stay in Salt Lake City make soem time to come up to the mountais of park City for a dinner or activity
"Do we need a destination management company (DMC)?" If you have time to explore, vet and coordinate vendors, handle logistics, and manage the event yourself, you might not. But if you want to actually experience your event instead of running it, a DMC partner is invaluable. We handle everything so you can be present.
"What's the minimum group size?"We work with groups of all sizes, from intimate executive retreats of 10 to conferences of 500+. Some venues have minimums, but we'll reccomend what fits.
"How far in advance should we plan?"For resort bookings in peak season (winter in Park City, summer everywhere), 6-12 months is ideal. For more flexible timing, 3-6 months usually works. We can often pull off shorter timelines — just ask.
